Michelle J. Yang

Description

Dr. Michelle Yang is a faculty member of the Division of Neonatology at the University of Utah, where she cares for neonates at both the University of Utah and Intermountain Healthcare facilities. Clinically, she has a strong interest in neonatal surgical disorders with an emphasis on pulmonary hypoplasia. She is the neonatology co-founder and lead for the IHC Pulmonary Hypoplasia clinic. Dr. Yang has a particular interest in research, with a master’s degree in Clinical Investigation. Her research focuses on utilizing pathophysiology and clinical pharmacology to design and conduct neonatal clinical trials. She is pursuing a PhD in Clinical Pharmacology to ultimately improve the design and execution of neonatal pharmacological trials and is actively involved with ongoing clinical trials within the division. In addition, Dr. Yang has a passion for the neonatal congenital diaphragmatic hernia cohort, on which she has published widely and provides best practice management guidelines via national/international talks. She consults families in the GSB Utah Fetal Center where she provides anticipatory guidance to families, including those expecting an infant with CDH.
