Joseph E. Tonna

Description

Dr. Joseph Tonna, MD, FACEP, FAAEM, is an Assistant Professor at the University of Utah with appointments in the Divsions of Cardiothoracic Surgery and Emergency Medicine. He is the Associate Director of Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) Services, and the Section Head of Cardiothoracic Critical Care within the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University. He works as an Attending Physician in the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Units and in the Emergency Department. His clinical and research interests include improving the care of ICU patients, specifically, delirium prevention, enhancing sleep and mobility, process and quality improvement, ICU clinical outcomes research and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).
